Privacy Policy
Effective date: March 23, 2026
Overview
LetsInvoiceBetter ("we", "us", or "our") operates the LetsInvoiceBetter platform, a web-based invoicing and client management tool. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it. We collect only what we need to operate the service and never sell your data.
Data We Collect
Account & Profile Data
When you create an account — via email/password or Google OAuth — we store your email address and the display name or profile picture provided by your identity provider. You may also add your business name, address, phone, and logo through the app's settings; this information is stored and used to populate your invoices and quotes.
Invoice & Business Data
All documents you create — invoices, quotes, line items, customer records, and product/service listings — are stored in our database so you can access and manage them. This data belongs to you.
Payment Information
We do not store credit card numbers or full payment credentials. Payment transactions are processed by Stripe and PayPal, each of which is responsible for securing cardholder data under their own PCI-compliant infrastructure. We receive and store transaction IDs and status information to track whether an invoice has been paid.
Usage & Log Data
Our hosting infrastructure may automatically record standard server logs including IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. We use this information to diagnose errors, prevent abuse, and improve the service.
Guest Usage
If you use the "Try as Guest" feature without creating an account, any invoices you create are stored temporarily and associated with your browser session. Guest data is not linked to a user account and may be deleted after a period of inactivity.
How We Use Your Data
- To provide and operate the LetsInvoiceBetter service
- To authenticate your identity and maintain your session
- To send transactional emails (invoice delivery, payment confirmations) on your behalf
- To process subscription payments via Stripe
- To detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent or unauthorized activity
- To improve and debug the product based on aggregated usage patterns
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or behavioral tracking unrelated to operating the service.
Third-Party Services
We rely on the following third-party services to operate. Each has its own privacy policy:
- Supabase — database and authentication hosting
- Stripe — subscription billing and payment processing
- PayPal — optional payment method for invoice recipients
- Google — optional OAuth sign-in
- Email provider — transactional email delivery (e.g. invoice emails sent on your behalf)
We share only the minimum data each service needs to fulfill its function.
Data Retention
Your account data and business records are retained as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data and business records within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance purposes (e.g., billing records).
Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at the email below. You may also export your invoice and customer data through the app. We will respond to requests within 30 days.
Cookies & Local Storage
We use cookies and browser storage strictly to maintain your authenticated session and store UI preferences. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising pixels.
Children's Privacy
LetsInvoiceBetter is intended for use by adults running a business or freelance practice. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under the age of 13. If we become aware of such data, we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
